Tutorial: How to Use iResize.com

How to resize a picture that is on your computer:

  1. Using our online tool at iResize.com, click "Browse" (in Internet Explorer or Mozilla/FireFox) or "Choose File" (in Safari, Chrome, or Opera)
  2. A pop-up window will appear allowing you to select your image. Navigate to the folder that your image is located in (common locations are your My Pictures folder or the Desktop)
  3. Select an image in BMP, JPG, GIF, or PNG format and click "Open"
  4. After choosing your image to resize, click the "Upload" button
  5. Once your image has been uploaded to iResize.com, you will see a thumbnail preview of it. If you uploaded the wrong image, just go back to iResize.com and choose a new image
  6. If your camera is supported, our tool will attempt to automatically rotate your image. This means, if you held your camera sideways and took a picture, our tool may be able to auto-rotate it
  7. If you need to manually rotate your image, under Actions click on "Rotate 90° Clockwise", "Rotate 90° Counter-clockwise", or "Rotate 180°"
  8. Once you are satisfied or if your image needed no rotating, click "I am satisfied! Proceed to Step 3..."
  9. Finally, if your image was large enough, our tool presents you with suggested new sizes to download. If you do not see any or if you want to make your image even smaller, you can select a Custom Size by entering a new width and/or height in pixels, and click "Resize"
  10. Click on "Download image..." to download your newly resized image

How to resize a picture directly from your camera:

  1. Using our online tool at iResize.com, click "Browse" (in Internet Explorer or Mozilla/FireFox) or "Choose File" (in Safari, Chrome, or Opera)
  2. A pop-up window will appear allowing you to select your image. Navigate to the folder that your image is located in (common locations are your My Pictures folder or the Desktop)
  3. Make sure your digital camera is attached to your computer by a USB cable (or other similar cable)
  4. In Windows, look for your attached camera in "My Computer", or in Macs, look for your attached camera on your desktop
  5. Select an image directly from your camera in BMP, JPG, GIF, or PNG format and click "Open" (Note: most likely, an image from your camera will be in JPG format)
  6. Continue with Step 4 above in "How to resize a picture that is on your computer"
